How To Use

How to Use PixelZip

Compress, resize and convert up to 100 images at once - all in your browser, in four simple steps.

1
Configure Your Settings
Before adding images, choose your output format, quality level and any optional resize dimensions. PixelZip defaults to WebP at 80% quality - the sweet spot for web images.
Tip: WebP gives the best compression for websites. Use JPG for maximum compatibility or PNG for lossless quality.
2
Add Your Images
Click Add Images to browse and select files, or drag and drop directly onto the drop zone. On desktop you can also click Add Folder to process an entire folder at once. Up to 100 images, 50MB each.
Tip: On mobile, tap Choose Images to select from your camera roll or photo library.
3
Convert Your Images
Hit the Convert Images button. PixelZip processes everything locally in your browser - nothing is uploaded. A progress bar shows you exactly how far along the batch is, plus the overall file size saving.
Tip: Larger batches may take a few seconds depending on your device. Modern phones and laptops handle 100 images very quickly.
4
Download Your Images
Once converted, you can save images individually using the download button on each card, or download everything as a single ZIP file using the Download All as ZIP button. Use Start Over to reset and process another batch.
Tip: The ZIP file is generated entirely in your browser - no server required.
Pro Tips
Use WebP for Web
WebP is supported by all modern browsers and is 25–35% smaller than JPG. Always choose WebP when optimising for websites.
80% Quality is the Sweet Spot
At 80% quality, images look virtually identical to the original but are dramatically smaller. Going below 60% can introduce visible artefacts.
Resize for Faster Loading
If your images are much larger than they'll be displayed, resize them. A 4K image on a 800px wide column is wasted bandwidth.
Strip Metadata for Privacy
Photos taken on phones contain GPS coordinates, device info and more. Remove Metadata strips all of this before export.
Rename for Organisation
Use Rename Image to give your batch a consistent naming convention - perfect for client deliverables or asset libraries.
Process Whole Folders
On desktop, Add Folder lets you queue an entire directory at once. Great for bulk processing product photos or client image libraries.
